I been out Octopussing every sunday morning and have also been pluging a good stringer of Damselfish 18 cm(full grown i might add), ive been cooking them as i do my Çipura but getting a bit bored with that, anyone got any good recipies, please,:) :). its a very tasty meat and a shame to not use them well.:inlove

Your damselfish must not be as pretty as those in the Sea of Cortez. That would be like shooting an angelfish!

Ah thought there may be some confusion in the comon name. Latin is Chromus Chromus. its a small brown coloured fish with large scales, it just tastes delicious, so i spear them when octupussing, they are fast little F***ers though, so does get my eye in for the start of season.

Ah, that explains. The local damselfish are little multi-colored sorts that settle on rock ledges and defend them valiantly against spearfisherman who outweigh them by thousands of times. Really cute, fierce little buggers in electric blue and gold, mahogany with chestnut spots, etc.

I also needed to read that carefully.. my first thought was cute little damsels on a kebab :(
