Hehe, at least that's what Guinness claims on their website at Freediving - dynamic apnea with fins (men)
The deepest freediving dynamic apnea with fins (men) was 265 m (869 ft 5 in) by Dave Mullins (New Zealand) in Porirua, New Zealand, on 2 September 2010.

Apparently Dave became disoriented during the DYN attempt, and instead of swimming horizontally he dove directly to the bottom, reaching the incredible depth of 265m. Unfortunately AIDA refused to recognize it as a CWT record, so Guinness did not hesitate and sanctioned it as the deepest dive ever!

Poor Dave. I hope he was able to return to the surface safely after such an accidental dive. :))

The most interesting on te whole affair is that it all happened in the Porirua swimming pool. So in fact Guinness should award it also with the record for the deepest swimming pool.
