Day 3 was nearly perfect! Thanks first and foremost to everyone who offered suggestions for dealing with seasickness. I ate a light breakfast, dosed up on meclazine (low-drowsy Dramamine), and visualized exactly what I was going to do. No upchucking! We began the open water exercises by doing “pull-downs,” which went really well. At 50’ I chilled for a bit and just took in my surroundings. Usually I am at this depth with scuba equipment on, and this time was way better. Everything was bluer than I remember, silent except for my heartbeat, and just absolutely gorgeous. During the kick cycle calibration exercise, I had a horrendous time keeping my head/neck in the correct position. Martin would follow me, push on my head, and I wouldn’t even notice. A perfectionist, I was getting really pissed at myself every time I would surface to receive my constructive criticism. The last couple of dives of the day went splendidly, and I did get to see 66’ in proper (well…almost proper) form. My hubby had a great day, too, with no trouble equalizing after a couple of “pull-downs.” I know that I will need scuba for my chosen vocation and graduate studies (underwater crime scene investigation), but I can feel the beginning of an obsession with freediving. Until tomorrow…that is, if anyone is still interested.

Awesome! You're hooked!! If you and Todd are staying in town for a couple more days, I'm gonna try to do some freediving with German(another graduate) on Thursday afternoon off my boat, seas permitting. You two are welcome to come along. The more the merrier. Tony

Good to hear that everything worked out good. Im with atomic on the csi thing.

Yes, I'm curious too about the UW crime scene investigation. Maybe you could post some stories for us in the future? :)
