Aloha to everyone from Kona, Hawaii. Jessica Wilson reported that they just wrapped up their first day of competition. Today the competition took the divers out to Honaunau bay for a beautiful day of diving. Six divers competed in constant weight, free immersion, and constant no fins. All six divers received white cards, and Annabel Edwards set a new US record for constant weight no fins with a dive to 48 meters.

Here is the list of divers, depths and their discipline:

Ant Judge (AUS) 83m CW
Leo Muraoka (USA) 76m FI
Kurt Chambers (USA) 70m FI
Jessica Wilson (USA) 62m CW
David Sims (USA) 55 FI
Annabel Edwards (USA) 48m CNF

Congrats to everyone!

Tomorrow will take the comp to Jacks Diving Locker for the static competition where 9 people will be participating in the breath hold.

A huge congratulations to Ant (SayNo2O2) on becoming the second Australian to ever break 80m in constant weight competition!

Ant was one of the earlier guys around in Australian freediving, competing in the Pacific Cup in 2002 but concentrated on spearfishing in the years afterwards, having only really got back into competitive freediving in the last 12 months or so. Considering the amount of constant weight diving we don't get to do down here, his progress has been amazing.

And to all the others - some brilliant results too, well done! Looking forward to hearing about the next day's diving.

Cheers,
Ben

Just heard Bill Graham did 7m39s static new US National record, congrats Bill!

Any news of the other guys?
