A DB member has gained national attention for his six minute long, very original falling domino display that has some dominoes appear to defy gravity.

Unfortunately at this time his website has become so overrun with hits from national exposure that it has gone past his allotted traffic amount. As soon as the site is back up you may want to check out the dominoes video at www.lunatim.com or it can be seen on the cover of today's yahoo homepage.

This link should work at least temporarily: http://video.yahoo.com/video/play?vid=97020bc7c265f3b09251dcb272a0609b.850950&cache=1

Thanks, folks, for the great compliments! And thanks, Jim Doe, for bringing it to the attention of Deeper Blue. I worked on this video for two weeks and have been doing this kind of art on a semi-professional basis for four years now.

This is one of the creative things I do when I'm topside. It'd be cool to make the world's first underwater stick bomb, but the darned popsicle sticks keep floating away ;)

BTW, I got so many hits on my website at lunatim.com that I went waaayyy over my bandwidth allotment and had to basically shut it down for a few weeks. However, I have a higher-definition version of the New York Mills video at http://www.archive.org/details/Kinetic_Art_Demo_Video and I have a bunch of my earlier kinetic videos on Revver at http://one.revver.com/revver/find/lunatim

Two weeks only? It cannot be true! How many helpers did you have? 50? And how do you prevent the accidental self-destruction (i.e. because you drop something on it; step over; because of wind, trucks in the nearby street, flies, cats, kids, wifes, and other similar malicious elements)?

Congratulations, anyway! Amazing job!

That's one amazing piece of art! In many places I was left wondering how in hell was that done. I mean all the stuff exploding and so on...

Wow, thats got to be the coolest domino/ stick/ cup/ marble/ thing display there ever was...

Thanks, you guys, for the kind words!

Trux--yup, that was just me, working 10-hour nights for two weeks. I had to work at night to keep down traffic noise, but I'd swear a train rolled through New York Mills every thirty minutes and it was kinda exasperating.

Sander--the exploding stuff was my patented (well, not really patented) stick bombs. I took the idea behind the simple stick bombs of my youth and figured out how to make them as big as I want. They're woven together and the elasticity of the sticks is what makes them explode when a stick is pulled out.

IronLung--If I ever get to do this professionally full-time, I hope to come up with even more dazzling stuff.

Thanks, dudes! I'm between studio spaces at present, but when I get a new place, I'll be getting busy with more videos.

Great work, Tim - keep it up!
:) Ofer

*How big is this studio of yours? It seems endless!

Thanks, BatRay and oferdegi! Would you believe the studio was only about 25 x 45 feet? I just made it look bigger through the magic of video ;)
