Hi there guys and gals

I'm looking for some good places to freedive in South East Asia. I live in Cambodia/China and I am thinking that Thailand is the best place I've found so far (mostly Koh Tao) and I'd like to check out Koh Lanta too as they have a freediving school.

I'm looking for warm water, deep water straight off the rocks (20m+ would be good, 40m+ would be AWESOME), noncommercial and with great water visibility (20m+ would be great) and still water/not choppy. Has anyone done a lot of diving/travel in that part of the world who could give me advice. I'm mainly looking at Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam and China/Taiwan. Some detailed help would be good as I'll most likely be freediving in this part of the world for a long long time and the sooner I start finding some amazing and unique dive-sites, the sooner I can become one with ocean. I have found some really cool spots in Koh Tao already (secret spots), but I want to broaden my horizons.

This is my first post so hello everybody. Yes.. I have been sucked into the underwater world and will probably never 'surface'.

Also can somebody tell me what they think of the Orca Free Freediving Suit? I've been looking into that and it seems pretty damn good, but I haven't read any impartial reviews. Has anyone bought it or tried it on? Pros/Cons?

Thanks a lot gang :)

Hey Troutie!! Welcome to DB mate, from a bit further south of you in Brisbane.

the only deep spots in the east coast of Thailand are around Koh Tao...
In Koh Lanta you need a boat to get to dive sites, no shore dives as it is super shallow around the island. Also the Similan Islands should be good.

Green Island in Taiwan is beautiful but now is not the season to go there, big waves and strong wind...

Philippines is so far the best I've seen for freediving is SE Asia.

I agree with rovanpera green island is amazing but right now is typhoon season i lived in taiwan for a few years and also the southern tip of the island has some nice reefs not to mention the hammerhead migration that occurs past green island.safe diving hope you find what you are looking for
