I eagerly await the movie Deep Blue . It looks stunning.

This film is a revamped version of the "Blue Planet" TV series done by the BBC. Viewers who are familiar with the TV series have expressed disappointment that it was no real good new footage included.

For those who haven't seen the TV series then it must be a stunning experience.

I totally agree I was disappointed when I saw the film deep blue in the movies. The BBC Series include much better scenes than presented in the film (and I think the scenes for the film are taken from the BBC material).
I remember myself sitting in an exhibition about (art and ocean) in Sydney two years ago for the hole day and watching all parts of the Blue Planet BBC series in a row... :p By the way: the series should be available on DVD, so I would recommend buying them. start up the home cinema and watch the series instead of the deep blue movie.

The BBC series is truly breathtaking and well worth buying. You should be able to get it from Amazon.

I agree about the Blue Planet. Got it from amazon a couple of years back and it truly is amazing. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in marine life.

After viewing the series, the Deep Blue seemed like a pointless collection of random clips spliced quickly together without the original, great narration by Attenborough, with slow motion clips of either waves rolling or dolphins jumping to dramatic music inserted to "bridge" the clips. I was very truly dissapointed.

Still I recommend you see this one for 2 reasons:
a) there's never too many movies like this in the theatres, so just out of support, go see it, make it known that people appreciate this stuff and maybe there'll be more. Vote with your wallet
b) for someone who hasn't seen the series, it may be a much better experience (like seeing a movie without reading the book first). Visually it's pretty cool...

Wow, thanks for the tip. I haven't seen Blue Planet, didn't know I could get it at Amazon- will have a look! Can anyone tell me if the quality (ie: high def) is better with Deep Blue vs. Blue Planet?
