Thanks All.

I'm pleased to see the community aspect of the site grow over the past few years and I look forward to seeing where we go next.

Of course the hard work of the Mentors (Abriapnea, Amphibious, Andrsn, cjborgert, fuzz, icarus pacific, SASpearo and thin_air) makes this place a safe and happy place. None of them are paid and volunteer their time and effort to help out!

A big thank you to the Editors (Malcolm, Cliff, Nico, Branon, Paul and Jeannette) for putting up with my rantings on keeping editorial content coming and the Staff Writers and Writers (too many to mention!!) who put up with the Editors ranting :D

Finally a HUGE thank you to everyone who frequents this site and community. YOU are the reason we exist!

Some interesting facts:

- It took us 2.5 years to get 1000 members.

- It took a further year to get to 2000 members.

- After 1 month we're now at 2100 members.

Seems like our little community is growing steadily and picking up pace!

well that is great to here

lets hope wwe get to 3000 even quicker

Well, I contributed to the last mont stats. I only found out about this forum for about two months back, and boy do I wish I would've found it earlier. It would have saved a me some hassle a few times and a lot of money (not kidding - buying a crap wetsuit and then a better one only after three months is a waste of money). ;) It's been amazingly fun and informative going through the topics (mostly the spearo and freediving forums), and it's been easy to spot the guys you really want to listen to...

So, a proper hello all and thank you!

Welcome N!ko...you've found the biggest and friendliest underwater community on the 'net!

I would like to thank you all for putting up with me and my ignorance on some of the topics here. This is "the" site for wisdom hungry divers, free and scuba alike. Please don't be angry with me if sometimes my comments are somewhat not main stream. I am merely, how do I say this, getting my feet wet:duh in the waters of this diving stream. More power to deeper blue and thanks again.:wave

Sinking to new depths

Being on DeeperBlue has helped me immensely. Now I'm able to sink to new depths - in the best sense of the word- reaching 20 meters whereas before DB I was stuck at around 7 meters due to not being able to equalize head down. I've managed to learn the Frenzel technique (gracias E.Fattah) and that little bit of knowledge makes a great difference. No more serpentine descents as I had to level out every few meters to equalize horizontally. So those who are joining now and who may think that they have little potential: It ain't so. This is the place for knowledge and advice and general good vibes. Stick around and you'll sink into pure bliss.
