Hey Everyone,

People may not be aware that we work with a partner to sell DeeperBlue.net branded clothing and merchandise that we have cunningly called "DeeperBlue.net Gear". Since it has been quite a while since I mentioned it I thought i'd drop a little note in here to remind people.

If you head over to http://gear.deeperblue.net you can see our selection of products over two designs.

It's a great way of showing your support of DeeperBlue.net by purchasing a T-Shirt, Mug, Hooded Top, Tote Bag, Sticker or much more.

If you already have a T-Shirt why don't you post in this thread showing you wearing your T-Shirt, holding your mug or such like?

Wow - only 3 people seem to have wanted a DB top of any sort :D I'm not sure we can keep up with the rush!

:D

On a serious note though - are people not wanting DB tops or don't you like the design? Let me know in here or via PM and we can get something setup that people want!

It's your community - let us know how best you want to show it off...

I bet that if you used some of [ame="http://forums.deeperblue.net/showthread.php?t=65436"]saver's drawings[/ame] (and paying him/her back some part), you could sell the t-shirts rather expensive and that a lot of people would be quite interested.

Wow sweet, didnt know that there was even any db merchandise avaliable. i should have an order in within a few weeks. But acctually just wondering now, is there a mens hooded top (db logo version) avaliable in white instead of grey? Are there any plans for a spearo design, if so ill have a hoody and t-shirt of that design too. Msg back - cheers!

Okdokey - Spearo design on the list of things we need. Will chat to Saver as well.

As a supporter of DB I would like to wear a T shirt depicting my sport in a informative way. A big logo promoting DB but with a sensitive design. Maybe a suited diver with a spear gun in hand, not a diver with a struggling speared fish. People who see my shirt should be able to decipher the information easily, "I am a spearo & a member of Deeper Blue internet site" of course I need to like the design in the first place. Personally I feel mugs are only noticed by the "drinker" & are generally brought as a present (fine if you are selling from a store) Sweatshirts are also good but expensive! I would think different designs to suit individual members pursuits, i.e. scuba ,salt free, free dive. I think most people would be buying for themselves so you will be appealing directly to the perspective owner in most cases. However, any advertising you do that visiting non members can easily see would help sell more.

I agree with foxfish, definitley need some spearo shirts and hoodies. I saw that the hoodies are Hines brand and Hines isn't quality, at least over here. They're usually thin and cheaply made, not something most people want.

Maybe you could sell patches, this way people can apply the DB design to their t-shirts or hoodies themselves? In the DB logo section, I would get rid of the web address, or at least make it smaller. I don't see the point of the web address, besides the obvious. You've got plenty of people registering every day, do you really need to recruit people with a shirt?

I would also have a variety of colors, many people don't like to wear white. having Saver designs is a great idea, maybe she can draw some more spearo designs as well. If I were to buy one a shirt with her design on it, I'd want it in pencil. A variety of color and pencil sketches would be great.

Cheers

OK - all good feedback. I'll look into getting a spearo design up as well as a scuba one.

Colours is a difficult one - we are limited by what Cafepress (our agents) can produce. At present they have very limited colours with Grey or White being the main ones - in addition we have no control over the brand of shirt or top being supplied.

As far as the URL goes - that one is staying put. Over the 10 years we've been around almost no-one who doesn't know the site will try to deeperblue.com rather than .net so we need it to be on there for people to know where to go :)

One final thing - i've recieved samples of almost all the goods in the product line over the years and all seem to be top notch quality.

Hats are good to sell, I'd buy one. I'm very picky when it comes to hoodies and always look for the thickest one, I'm sure Hines brand has thier high and low ends, just like everything else. I trust your judgement and will eventually buy one.

Cheers

perhaps a mini-logo design contest for variation would boost shirt sales?
people like color and something they can wear with an eye-catching logo of the sport they love so that when other people see it, they are curious and want to know more. some good examples are sevententh's designs as well as fourthelement's apneist shirts. save the long website address for across the back. experiment with different fonts. i hope you don't mind my comments :)

Brianna,

Of course I appreciate you comments!

We're not in the business of competing with Seven Tenths or Fourth Element (both are good friends of ours). Our aim is just to have some goods that promote the site and look good.

Perhaps on a hoody a small spearo design on the front, a larger spearo one on the back with a small address, then a large address down the sleeve? Just putting up some ideas.

i am going for the the lycra mag & more
