I am a great advocate of using a descent line when freediving. I find I use a lot less energy and am able to 'dream' my way down a rope.
I currently use the following set-up;
A 25 litre barrel filled with stones, sand and topped up with water tied to an 11mm climbing rope which is held vertical by an old lifejacket at the surface.
I have tried experimenting with different ropes and floats etc.
I am interested in knowing what other set-up's are used out there. Do any of you tie knots in the rope?
Any ideas which would improve my diving efficiency would be greatly appreciated.
