Hi.
I am quite new at this place and in the last few month I was only a reading member :)
Looking for a freedive computer I'm already totally confused by reading loads of threads about this topic.
My conclusions what I'm searching for are now very clear:
I need a computer with large digits, because I already need reading glasses.
I would like to change batteries by myself.
I would like to use deep and time alarms.

Two computers, I liked very much: the Aeris F10/ Beuchat Mundial 3 and the Cressi Drake Titanium.
While looking for resellers of the F10, I found out, that the Aqualung i200 does not only look quite similar to the F10 it has most of the F10 options. Beside this, I could use it as a backup computer while scubadiving.
Does anybody has experiences with the aqualung i200?

Thank you for your answers
Lars

I used an i200 this weekend with a basic free dive class and I liked it, it did everything I needed it to do, I also have the stunt d4 and I think I like the 200 better

I'm also intrested in same feeback about the i200, also about the new suunto D4F, any one uses it?

Hello.
After nobody replied for a long time, I bought the i200 on saturday :)
As soon as I have the first freedive-experiences with the computer, I will do another post.
What I found out is, that the i200 is the formerly Oceanic Geo 2 with a slightly different
software.
my first experiences:
You cannot read the freedive logbook without the cable. You only see the last dive.
But you can use the gauge mode, if you do not want to buy a cable.
The difference between gauge and free-mode is, that after a gauge dive the computer
will not switch into free or dive mode for 24 hours, because it does not
use the N2 calculation. Gauge-mode has less alarms. All in all after reading the manual,
I am very curious to try out the i200 because it has losts of interesting functions for diving
which my Zoop does not have.
The i200 is the only computer I know which does N2 calculations in free and dive mode and
allows you to switch between these two without getting locked. And it combines N2 calculation
in freediving and diving which makes switching saver.
I read the decompression algorithm is not very conservative. But it has two modes.
The other thing is, that in freedive-mode the computer's N2 algorithm is not happy, if you
go below 40 meters.
Maybe somebody has experiences with the Geo 2?
Greetings from Germany
Lars

Hello again.
First impressions on the i200. It works fine while indoor fin training. It starts counting below 1,5 m and after a dive it counts surface time in seconds. That all I wanted for indoors. It only shows the last dive time and depth.
What I found out is, that it shows a temperature which is 4 degrees higher than the real temperature. I will call Aqualung tomorrow and ask for a reason for that.
Does anybody have an idea, what could be the reason for that. Does the Aeris/Oceanic computer f10 show the right temperature?
Thank you for answers.
Lars

Did you find out about the temperature? i just got one for me and one for my gf, one shows 24c and the other 26c. weird i wonder if it is the location of the sensor

Hello.
I got a new computer. Aqualung changed it very fast. The new Computer shows 1 degree too much, but this is no problem. Tolerance is plus/minus 1 degree. With 4 degrees too much it was quite confusing. What I found out, is that the computer shows a higher temperature if it is worn outside the water. Body temperature seems to effect the measurement. Under water it shows the right temperature after a few minutes. After diving it takes time until it shows the right temperature. It is quite the same with my Suunto Gekko. I bet, if your computer shows 24 C and your girlfriend's shows 26 C the right temperature is 25 C. :)
Hope you like the computer, like I do. Next weekend I will try out the i200 in freewater.

Any thoughts after trying it in open waters? I very much considering buying this computer. Thanks!

Hi.
I made a few dives in open waters but none with scuba equipment. The i200 works fine. If the surface break is less than one minute, it does not start a new dive but adds the time to the last dive. It starts and quits time and depth counting very precise. With neoprene you need to attach the wristband extender which comes with the i200. The interface is out of stock in Germany. Delivery starts at the end of july.
I am very happy with the computer. I will not try scuba diving with it before july.

Hello.
I did a scuba dive with the i200 and the suunto zoop. I had the i200 in conservative mode and it did not like how long and deep I dived, while the zoop felt okay. :) I suggest to switch to the normal computing mode not the conservative. I got my cable and now I can see all data from the free dives. Freediving with the i200 works very well. All in all I like the i200 very much. It is very easy to use and easy to read in the water. By now you can get it even cheaper too.

Hello,
I noticed one of your reasons for buying the i200 was so you could change the battery yourself. Have you found anywhere that supplies the battery kit?
You mentioned that the "i200 is the formerly Oceanic Geo 2 with a slightly different software". Do you know if you can use a battery kit for the Geo2 in the i200?
Thanks!
Scott.

Hi Scott.
I have not changed the battery yet. It is a usual 2430 battery.
Aqualung recommends using a new o-ring. I never changed the seal, when changing the battery
on my Gekko. The o-ring was always good. So I never thought of buying a battery kit for the i200.
In europe it is no problem to get a kit:

I thing this kit fits too:
Amazon product ASIN B072J46FXMHope, I could help you.

Hi Lars,
Many thanks for the helpful reply. Much appreciated!
Cheers,
