found this when reading another post in "science" sub forum

Sorry to bring this old topic but ...

this should not be a problem in this sub forum because for me it is THE scientific virtue not to "bury" things!

do you agree?

Andy

Exact. In fact it is much more polite digging out an old thread and posting in it, than launching a new thread on the same topic where people just have to re-tell all what was already said many times. Personally, before posting, I always try searching the archive first, and if I find a related thread, I post in it. And if I find that a news item I want to announce was already discussed, I do not duplicate it. Unfortunately, new members usually do not have the experience with forum use, so we see each week threads with identical subjects (like "how to increase my bottom time", "where to find small fins", "equalization problems", etc) that were already discussed hundreds of times. But then again, if there were not all these redundant threads, the forum would be much more quiet and probably not attracting people anymore so much.
