DIN record bi-fins

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I think Tom Sietas and Stephane Mifsud did some pretty big numbers that I don't remember off by heart. I am sure there are others too. Are you interested in the biggest performance verified by AIDA?

Tom Sietas' WR was 223m so I am assuming that was done with bi-fins

Some of the biggest DYN swims with bifins are listed here:
APNEA.cz ranking - DYN

Tom Sietas allegedly did multiple times 250m with bifins in training. Perhaps we'll see a much longer swim with bifins in future from Branko Petrovic. Or does he now use a mono too?

As for CWT, you can find an incomplete list here:
APNEA.cz ranking - CWT

There are, of course, many more bifin performances in the ranking database, but unfortunatelly the information about the fin type does not come along in the result data from organizers, hence the list is rather limited. However, anyone who is aware that some of the recorded performances were done with a certain type of fin, can edit the performance in the ranking, and submit the change request for approval.

Trux,

I believe Nick Fazah did his dives this year at vertical blue with bi-fins but he's not on the CWT list. How can these records be corrected ?

thanks,

Meir

Meir, in the ranking look at the extreme right of the respective result row, and click the Edit icon. You can then modify the result as needed, and submit for approval.

Usually you have to provide some evidence, so that I can verify and approve the modification - link to the official website or to the national AIDA website, where it is mentioned, link to a photo or video that can prove it, or have the judge or the organizer to contact me with the confirmation.

Organizers can submit this information very easily, without any change to the official ranking Excel sheets - it is enough to enter "bifins" into the existing Comment field. Similarly, also "hydrofoil" (for DOL-fin, lunocet,...) or "monofin" can be used specify the fin type. And at pool competitions, also the pool length can be set through the Comment field (by adding "50m" or "25m"). If the organizers fill this data before sending the results, they will be automatically categorized accordingly.

PS: these are for example DYN results known to be done with a hydrofoil type of a fin (DOL-fin in all recorded cases):

Thanks trux. I submitted it, but had an issue with the registration. When you click on the edit link and you're not logged in it tells you to log in or register, then once I clicked register the registration window opens in that same tiny window. It should spawn a larger window as you can't see 90% of the page. Thanks !

Oops sorry perhaps it's not yours. It's called unaerobic and links to the apnea.cz rankings list.

Meir
