Hey guys,

does anyone know where I can buy a 'dive Hunter', the one with the window? I'm not really too keen on the look of the 'Best hunter' unless anyone can recommend them or know of something else worth considering?

Has anyone got one, does the window work well when your out?? Thanks :)

Unfortunately I can't answer your question, but I wanted to thank you for posting this. I've never heard of the Dive Hunter before now and I love the look of it. Such a good idea. And I imagine the window would work fine as long as you've got decent viz.
What instantly comes to my mind thought is glare off the window on sunny days. If you're getting glare off of the window, try using a towel to cover it and your head as you look through(Old Canadian Icefishing trick).
Please post a review when you get your Dive Hunter!
Happy Hunting.

Thanks Deniz, I love the glare trick :)

However I have a sinking feeling that they have stopped making them as I really can't find one anywhere.

I went to comp last year where quite a few people had them and what I loved aside the window was how fast they could swim around. When on their hunter, they were probably 2 to 3 times faster than me in the water so they could reach prime destinations quicker.

There does seem to be a cheaper alternative called the Best Hunter (no window) but I don't know how good they are yet :)

Hey, worst case you could get creative with a big boogie-board, some plexiglass and silicone caulking. McGuyver would be proud.

Tony, maybe this will interest you?

Its almost the same product, slightly different color, doesn't come with gun straps (easy enough to make) but has the window that you want?

Joe

Thanks a million Joe that's ideal!

The best thing is its under a quarter of the price of a Dive Hunter, and under half the price of a Best Hunter :) I need to buy you a pint at some point, you've saved me a wedge!

You'll probably need to fashion some sort of skin for it as I'm sure it wasn't designed to handle fish spines, spear tips, knives etc... but that should definitely do the trick.
