g'day fellas,
i m new to spearfishing and i dont have a clue about the equuipment needed.
how do u pick a decent knife? size? shape? weight? length? thickness?
i will generally use it as a scuba knife and may use it when i start spearfishing....
thanks in advance
cheers
kenny

I'm no expert but I would recomend stainless steel with a narow sileto type blade about 4-5 inches long light easy to handle and sharper than hell.(see knife sharpening theead a little below your's

something comfortable, something you like the looks of, make sure the handle is grippy when wet (yea i had a diving knife that i couldnt hold properly, as soon as i started cutting with it it would move around in my hand) for spearfishing, as colt.45 suggested, a narrow blade, a lot of people seem to like double edged, but personally i preffer a single edged, i took the back edge off of my knife when i got it, sometimes i need to use the back of the blade as leverage when im cutting, wouldnt like it to leave the water red ;)

Do thread search as "knife" issue has been spoken about lots - my input, slim stilleto blade with a serrated edge, e.g. Sporasub Daga or similar
