I figured I'd start a Thread, where people can post where they are Diving and it's kind of a open Invite to others. I will start.

I am in Mequon, WI Thursday/Friday March 10,11 - Diving at VIRMOND PARK (Lake Michigan). I will be in the Water around 10 - 2pm or later if the diving Vis is good. No later than 4pm though. Busy the rest of the day into the evening.

Virmond Park is a no-go. Vis bad.

Thats a bummer. Sorry i didnt get back to you about that dive. I was super busy with the sports show. Ill let you know as soon as i see good clear days around here in the big pond. Its all about the wind. As soon as the ice is gone i plan on going out to LuLu lake. pray for some warm days to drive the ice away.

Scott, if you're in that area you could check out Lannon Quarry in the Germantown/ Menomonee Falls area. I used to teach a LOT of scuba classes in that place. Not much for spearfishing, but some neat old mining artifacts to poke around. There's also a private quarry in just north of Thiensville that I used to dive. Not sure if it's open to the public these days or not. There are old cars and even an underwater habitat sunk in there.

You could also go up to Port Washington and dive off the north end of the marina. There's an old shipwreck sunk off of there that went down in the 1850's called the Toledo. If you go south to Milwaukee you can dive off of Atwater Beach. There's a large wreck just off shore called the Appomattox. It's over 300' long and lies in 18' to 24' of water. Many divers know about it, but most don't know that the wreck has a second section to the north. My father-in-law just discovered the second section late last summer. I haven't mentioned it until now because he told me this past weekend that he will be publishing the GPS numbers for it in his new wreck book that comes out later on this month. Since he will be publishing the numbers for it I feel it's safe to talk about now. In from that wreck is another one called the Josephine in 10' of water. There are also lots of rock reefs in that area that fill up with fish later on in the summer.

Hoping to go check out one of the Madison Lakes on Tuesday. My plan is to swing down to the OUTLET first around 9:30-10am. If it's decent, stay there for a few hours. If it sucks, Then I will move on to Mendota, not exactly sure where. (that's plan b).

I'll be there from 9-10. I'd like to dive longer, but I need to get to my kid's school by 11am and I don't want to show up smelling like lake water and pee. rofl

The outlet is here:

BB Clarke Beach

The outlet is at the west end of the park.

Kalin - I've shown you the outlet before. It's where the warm water discharge is by the power plant on Lake Monona. I'm shooting to be there roung 9am- but it will probably be shortly after that. But if the diving is good, I plan on stay till about noon or 1pm.

I am planning a trip to Lake Geneva or Golden Lake or both on Saturday....Anyone from Chicago area? Actually I am free and I can do it on Thursday or Friday if somebody is interested.

I'm waiting for an order to come in, if it does I'll be heading somewhere in Wisconsin. Will let you know if I get it before the weekend.

Chris

I'm heading to GOODMAN PARK on the South East end of Waubesa. I'm going to try to be there by 9:30 ish. If anyone is wanting to go. If Goodman is bad conditions, I'll be heading over to The Outlet.

Heading up to Madison on Sunday, awaiting Scott's report to determine where I'll start, but will be flexible to go to any of the 3 lakes. If anyone wants to meet up, let me know.

Chris

Will be heading to Lake Mendota on Wednesday after work. Should be there around 4:30pm-5pm Stay for a few hours. I'll be in search for that brother of the 10.25" Bluegill I shot a few weeks ago. This time, get it weighed and in the Spearfishing Record books. If anyone is interested in joining me - or in the area, let me know.

Anyone looking to get out this Sunday 7/9? I'd be up for Kenosha-Lake Mich for perch or anywhere from Madison to the Illinois border. Let me know...

Go to Kenosha or Racine for Lake Mich Perch! It should be good spearing by now- they should be in.

Still in search of a partner... I'm available Saturday evening or all day Sunday??? I'd like to head to Kenosha, but am willing to adjust.
