As indicated in a previous post (ie my lost dive response) I've always thought that I have a relatively weak and lazy dive response, particularly for dry apnea work.

I've been doing my dry tables and Eric's (IHT) training with the pulse oximeter and have notice that for the comfort stage of apnea the PIr is between 9 & 10 on my datex-Ohmeda 3900P and at about the 10 contraction mark it drops rapidly to between 2 & 4.

I was wondering whether these values give relative information about vasoconstriction and therefore dive response because if they do then the dive response for me during dry apnea work does not kick in until well into the struggle phase.....any thoughts?

I forgot to add that I'm thinking there is a relationship between PIr value and vasoconstriction because I'm currently using the finger tip sensor instead of my earlobe sensor
