Hi All
This message I'm sure has been asked a million times before. I understand the theory with things like neutrally buoyant at 10 metres etc. But I want advice on how much weight to pay for on an initial payout. In the UK I will be using a two piece 5 mm wetsuit and I weigh 15 stone and six foot tall. I am gonna need the weight for when I do my Aida Lv 2 this year.

How much weight should I buy? 4,6,8,10 kg? I don't want to get too much but more importantly I don't want to go without.

Many thanks & stay safe

Nige

You and I are about the same weight and height, if 15 stone is about 210-215 lbs? Si, I dive an open cell, 5 mm 2 piece suit...and in salt water, I use between 11-14 pounds (5-7 kilos), so having no more than 10 kilos of weight in 1 kilo increments should be sufficient. The course location probably has weight available...check with them and save on the cost or weight penalty to travel with your own lead.

Cheers John.

I'm hoping to do my course with FreediveUK down in Cornwall. But I'll definately send them an email or message. I suppose soon as I find how much I need during the course, I can then buy some from a dive shop down there.

Cheers. All these replies have been great help
