Hello. I've been looking at a variety of kayaks that could be use for diving. I found this one at leisurepro.com for $524 US. Have a look. BTW, I'm not affiliated with them in any way, just wanted you guys to see.

This is a true hybrid of a dive boat and the Queen of the Sevylor Dive Fleet!

It is propelled by a double-bladed paddle and is a very stabile and responsive dive kayak. You can equip it with a 3 1/2 hp outboard motor to make it a sleek sport dive boat with two tail fins capable of reaching speeds that no conventional boat would be capable of with such a small motor. It is a glass bottom dive platform with a removable center dive hatch, which allows the diver to exit and enter the boat through an opening at mid-ship. The cover of the center floor section can be removed to expose a clear, see-through dive hatch. The XK2020 is equipped with 20 stainless steel D-rings for securing a set of double tanks and all other dive gear. It has Velcro tie downs for a kayak paddle, spear gun, shock stick, fishing pole, and dive flag. It is capable of mounting a large compressor for hookah diving.
Capacity
2 people - 600 lbs

Dimensions
12 feet 10 inches x 3 feet 10 inches

Kayak, 1 Seat, Pump

hi,
this is supposed to be a really goood one.
i got the athor one from leisurepro, the tandem yellow one, is much cheaper and longer, so gives a lot of room when you're alone and if youre not diving i could take the wife for nice paddle.
of course rigid kayaks are prbably better, but for me since i move a lot they are not a practical choice.

I wish I could make one of thes myself. Anone have any ideas? Having the dive hatch would be so great, much easier than climbing over the side, I would think.

I see what one you have, how do you like it? Is there any compartments or storage areas in it? From the pic is just looks like a flat surface.

Cheers,
Chris

I like these things, but have never had a problem swimming all day to and from where I want to hunt. I'm sure I've swam ove 5 kms some days. That's what makes me hesitate about buying one for spearing. I like being in the water- I'm not interested in sitting on top of it unless I was out kayaking. In which case I always still find myself wishing I was in the water :head
Peace,
Erik Y.
