Diving around Palermo, Italy

Hi,
I will be in Palermo in the beginning of October this year. My intension is to make an article for a diving magazine.

Is there anyone that can help me with some information about good diving spots and what I can expect to see. I will do some photography and will listen to all advices considering lens choise's etc.

What kind of wet suit is needed during that period of time?
