hey everyone, dad and i were talkin tonight about my career and all that. i told him i had a passion for diving whether it be freediving or scuba. He mentioned underwater photography, welding and so on. and then we started talking about freediving. i was wondering what sort of careers can i branch off into via diving it being scuba or freediving? e.g. instructing, rescue, hollywood stuff such as stunt doubling freediving and stuff like that. i am asking for a brainstorm of possible careers through diving. thanks a lot in advance. :)

I suggest a nice big yacht with a spa pool, scuba facilities, and a couple of nice big fast inflatables for trips.
With the right yacht you could sail the world, visiting any place your customers wanted to go. They could dive - whether free or scuba - in comfort and safety with a good helping of luxury thrown in.
Imagine anchoring at the Great Barrier Reef, then off to Vanuatu to freedive with the whales, then across the pacific to Hawaii to host a group at a world freediving competition. Then maybe a private trip to your favourite spot.
The spa pool would be recommended but a sauna would be just as good.

As some guy once said "whether you think you can or if you think you can't- you're right."

or u can work as a divemaster in diving centre...

hehe thanks for the inspiring dream shoutatthesky. vali, i thought about that but dad wants me to think about what else is out there in the diving industry. does anyone have anymore ideas??? any suggestions are greatly appreciated

There was a thread around here somewhere about milatary special ops divers, hardcore yes but you get to blow sh*t up rofl. Or you could get more into the gear side of it all, design and manufacture of new gear including wetsuits, scuba gear and all that, cause we all love a new gadget now dont we

hello,
if you want to live from diving, you need to look around you and you need to be open minded.
i freedive since 1996 und since last year, i am a professional freediver.
i try to break recrods (you can have sponsors), i works also as a stuntman or actor, i organise seminars (not only freediving-courses, also motivationseminars for manager), i sell my freedivingbook, in a few months a dvd will come.
but its not easy!
ciao chris
