Dear fellows,
I'm a beginner in freediving and about to acquire diving computer. Has anybody experiences or some info concerning Aeris F10 v 2? It's a way cheaper than suunto d4i, and I already have a computer for scuba diving.
Thanks in advance!

I love my f.10. It's simple to use and has a larger display and is very easy to see at just a glance.

Yes I'm still awaiting a Full Scubapro meridian review. Where the person did use the HR recording function, to see a graph of depth, time temperature and Heart Rate!
To know how loud the alarm is compared to D3 - F10 - D4.

I just received a sample unit of Meridian for testing a few days ago, so will publish a review in a few weeks after testing it in different conditions. So far I did not take it underwater yet, but the first impressions are very good. Outstadning look, it looks exceptionally solid. Perfect craftsmanship and very stylish. On my mind it is the best looking freediving computer I ever saw. You can quietly keep it on your writst even at bussiness meetings or at high-class parties. Even my wife, who is no fan of watches, and even less of diving computers, was quite impressed.

I saw some complaints about the wrist band, that some people consider too weak and are afraid it would break quickly. In contrary, I like it quit a bit, and do not think it breaks too fast. It looks and feels much better than for example the one of Suunto Mosquito. That one indeed broke on me twice, despite looking much more clumsy. Additionally I could not really wear it on the dry land - the sweat cummulated under the wrist band, and it got itchy and smelly just after a few hours of wearing. I had no such problems with the band of the Meridian after having it on my wrist for three full days. The rubber band is profiled, so the skin can still breathe nicely under it. In any case, if you don't like the rubber band, you can order a nylon band that can be used even on thick wetsuits.

So far I did not study the manual, and as I told, I did not test it in water, so cannot speak about its functionality much. The menus are relatively intuitive. Although the structure of the menu differs from watches of other manufacturers, it is not too difficult to get a quick grip on it even without reading the manual.

I just did not find yet how to display the heart-rate value. So far I have the impression that you can only see it when in the diving mode. It looks strange though, and would be a bit disappointing if the HR monitor function was limited for the underwater use only. I will have to read the manual better, or ask the Uwatec people.

I just downloaded the software for the data processing, but did not install and test it yet. I´ll post some comments and charts later.

I am also not sure yet how the alarm performs underwater, but the dry daily alarm is not too impressive. I do not think it is louder than the one on Suunto D3, Mosquito, or some other computers I saw, so I am afraid the underwater alarm won´t be especially loud. I´'ll report later about it.

Great Trux!

Check this for me plz:
Sound - is it louder then F10 in water (D3 level maybe)?
HR - does it work with suit on? 3mm? 5mm? I assume you have the original HR-belt.
Size compared to F10? Bulky?
No dive duration/intervall time alarm (i.e every 30 sec, like the F10, great for pool)?
How good is the reading of the display compared to F10? In dark waters (backlight)?

What i can read from the manual it has what one would need.

Extremely interested in your review as always.

As I wrote, I did not dive with it yet, but from what I can hear on dry land, I suspect it won't be better than D3. I even suspect it may be worse, due to the massive metal housing. However, this is just a speculation and is to be confirmed. I may be wrong. And it is also rather subjective as for now - I do not have any other computer with me right now, but will compare it later side by side with some others.

Also not tested yet, but it should be absolutely no problem, since you wear the chest belt under the wetsuit. I tested the bigger older model Galileo and the wetsuit posed no problem, of course. BTW, I've got the Polar T31 belt with it for testing. I guess the one made by Uwatec is perhaps not available yet.

Ansolutely not. It is massive and heavy, but not bulky at all. When on wrist, it looks almost like a decent watch. Again, I´ll compare it side by side with other models later.

Meridian has plenty of alarms:
- 2 depth alarms
- depth incremental alarm (repetitive each X meters)
- dive time interval alarm (repeting each X seconds)
- surface time interval warning (visual)
- low HR alarm
- ascent speed alarm

How good is the reading of the display compared to F10? In dark waters (backlight)?
I think it will be about the same. They have both similar display. If you want something with excellent readability in murky waters, then I recommend Liquivision X1 or Xen - they are currently the only freediving computers with higly luminous active OLED display. All other models use passive LCD with backlight.
