Hi,

I am going to the Costa Brava in the second half of november for work, and I would like to add a few days of diving. Now I've noticed that most diving shops close at the end of october.

Does anyone know a good place which stays open in november? I have my own gear, but will need a guide or buddy, since I will be travelling alone.

Ask Johnny or Adrian who are both members here as both live and spear on the Costa Brava. There should be shops in Barcelona at the very least which will be open.

Hi HMMR,
There are quite a few places open in the area as far as diving equipment goes so that's no problem. Are you talking about scuba or freediving though?

Adrian

Hi Adrian,

I'm talking about scuba diving. I will be in Sant Feliu de Guíxols until the 17th of november. after that I would like to scuba-dive for a few days. I've been looking for dive centers along the coast, but many of them close shop during the winter period. Depending on the dive location, I can change the place I will stay during the diving days. I heard that near Cadaque there are also nice place's to dive.

I have been there 2 years ago...

lovely place !! I did some freediving there

un sitio estupendo !!

Estartit is a good place as there is the Medes Islands, a natural park with lots of sea life, tunnel systems, some 20 KG groupers, huge bream, bass and other species. You can check out Medaqua or google dive operators in Estartit for more info. They would tend to be open as it's a major business for them. Where I live there is also good diving and smaller operations, I can recommend Grassi Sub. That's in L'Escala. Cadaques is a lovely village and near the wild Cap de Creus National Park, also good diving. There are a couple of dive centers there as well.

I've found several diving schools in Estartit and léscala, but unfortunately none of them is organizing any dives on the 18th and 19th of november. Some are busy with courses, and others are just colesd. If anyone can point me to a center which is diving during those days (preferable on the medas islands, but if that is not possible, any dive-spot is better than none :) )

And off course a (local) buddy would also be very welcome :)
