Hi all.
This is my first message to DeeperBlue's Forum.
I have just returned from 7 days of diving from the Murex Dive site in Manado, North Sulawesi. 14 of us had a great time and saw a wonderful variety of fish, corals, etc. Also Black-tip Sharks and Turtles.
One of the group had a very close encounter with a turtle which swam alongside her for about 5 minutes. I think she is still grinning!!
All-in-all I would really recommend the area. It is far enough away from the hot-spots like Bali and the local people are really friendly.
The author of one of the books on local fish was at the resort for a while. On one of his dives he recorded 300 (that is not a misprint) species of fish!!
Anyway, I hope that this is of interest to some of you out there.
All the Best.

Gerald... Our dive group (Blue Water Divers, New Jersey) is off to Wakatobi, Indonesia in the Sulawesi Sea next week. We'll be there 11 days... and from the Web site (www.wakatobi.com), it should be spectacular with almost unlimited diving. Our diving up to now has been limited mainly to the Carribean... so we are looking forward to seeing lots of new and different critters. As for turtles, here is one that we "captured" off Cozumel.
