Hi,greetings from Norway.Im after a "simple" dive computer that can tell me how deep I go, How long I am under, and surfacetime inbetween dives. Is there any others than the D4? seems like I would pay alot of money for functions I wont use...

Well, there are plenty of threads here on DB discussing it. I recommend that you browse through them a bit - you'll get better into the picture., and see many recommendations. You can also have a look on the comparative review of 35 freediving computers at APNEA.cz - Freediving Computers

If you don't find anything matching your needs and budget, then you still have plenty of watches with depth-meter from several manufacturers (i.e. Casio, Seiko, Citizen,...). Often you can find some models on eBay for a few bucks. However, only some of them show dive and surface times. Look more for those with digital display (at least for the depth and dive/surface time). The ones with mechanical gauge usually do not offer anything else than standard watch functions and the depth.

f10.

alot cheaper than the D4 and easier to use. plus user changable battery saves alot of cash, low battery issue has also been fixed... on Australian ones anywaynot sure about the others.

You said one important thing, surface time. This seems to be a huge "divider" in watches. The new Omer seems like a good way to good but as I have seen (thanks Trux) it has no surface interval, bad. I bought a Casio a few years back for $125US, I still use it for day to day but it only goes down to 90' and had no surface time. Check out the site Trux has and use the comparison feature. I still feel that the Cressi, Beuchat and F.10 are made by the same manufacturer but you decide.
If you are considering the Mares Apneist I have one coming to me soon and I will let you know what I think. I like that it is steel and seems easier to use but we'll see.

The Beuchat computer and F.10 are indeed the same product, just with different brands, and some minor cosmetic differences, but Cressi Edy is entirely different watch, and definitely not from Pelagic Pressure Systems like the other two are. However, although generally the Edy is not too bad, if you are a competitive freediver, and/or frequently train diverse tables, the lack of stop watch at Edy is quite a serious issue. If you have no need for the stop watch, then the Edy is quite attractive - a very durable watch, with exceptionally resistant case and face (even much more expensive models such as the D4 don't offer 200m rating), and a quite long battery time. And it has a rather compact and nice design, so it can be used as a daily watch too.

EDIT: BTW, I admire the lack of imagination at the Beuchat's marketing department. Instead of giving the Pelagic freediving computer a real and a flashy name, they call it "Beuchat Mundial Electronic Depth gauge" - a really an excellent and self-explaining name easy to use in communication rofl
