actually I once saw a show on these wonderfull creatures. As long as you are not diving where the squid are being fished they are extreamly docile and peaceful. However if you decide to dive by the fishing boats be perpared for a crazy and wild experience!!

Gahiel,

We were involved in that show you saw on Discovery. Be carefull, they made the squid out to be passive and docile when away from the fishing fleet. Although this is true to some extent, its not proven. I have seen large squid attack and kill a smaller squid in front of me during a dive with the Ocean Futures Society. You can not predict how these animals will act when they see you. If you are in an area where they are feeding they will attack you. I have personaly been attacked several times. Always wear protection and saftey line to the boat when you are dealing with these animals. They are very strong, fast, and they are NOT aftaid of divers at all.

You can dive with them in a safe manner and get great pics with us.
