Hi to all the spearos in the whole word. My name is Deon, 51y young and plan to dive till at least 80. The more I read on this forum the more I realize how little I actually know about this sport after 30y in the water. I am definitely going very soon for a freedivers course. You guys have queries on 30/40m dives. Hell, my limit is 12m although my PB for a static breathhold is 4m16s. I think I'm doing something seriously wrong.

Welcome from Texas! Sounds like you need some mentoring on going deeper with that great breath hold. Try some light weights.

Thanks agbiv for the tip, but I don,t understand, I'm weighting 88, use 10kg weights because my belt ca'nt take more. With less weights won,t it take more energy to go deeper?

A lot depends on your technique as you head down from the surface. Also your fin size and use.

OK, thanks for your advice and time, I have booked myself with Linda Paganelli. She will be back in Dec and then I will be taught the correct ways of freediving. I promise you will be the first guy to know what I have learned during her beginners course. In the meantime, good hunting and safe diving.
