With the cost of living in Ketchikan, a person would probably lose money on those wages....

Haha.. I was just making a general observation since I live very close to Ketchikan and know what people should be making in wages during the summers. For that type of work a person should be pulling in $250 per day if no room and board were provided. If room, board, food, transportation, and a great work environment were present, $150 a day would work.

Diving instructors get paid 500$ a month in Dubai. You need 500$ a week at least to afford a decent living, so they all shack up together or get provided accommodation, normally. They also get provided transport to and from work and if the dive centre is based in a hotel they get three meals a day in the staff canteen.

Is there any place in the world where Diving Instructors can make decent living out of diving ?
Any suggestions ?

Maldives? you get food/accommodation free and earn between 1000-3000 usd a month tax free :D
