I'm thinking about freediving vacation in Dominica. It looks like the island's west cost has sites accessible from the shore (meaning no boat needed). Has anyone dove there? Any suggestions regarding places and/or organizations/businesses to contact there?

Thanks in advance!

Dominica is on my list, but have not been there. Its pretty far back of beyond and the smaller(cheaper) places are not very internet friendly. Be patient if you try that route.

Diving looks fabulous, and very close to shore. The area around Scotts Head should be outstanding, there are several sites described on the net, most easy swims, assuming you are freediving. Should be good shallow and all the depth and near vertical walls you could want. Mostly protected from the prevailing wind and wave. Small guest houses are in that area, but hard to contact.

If you make it there, please post a detailed description.

Cool, thanks! Moved Dominica to the top of my list and definitely will post my feedback after the trip.
