A tricky decision should we be more humane with mammals ? For me yes all animals should be dispatched quickly and with dignity only if necersary and ideally by the person who is going to consume it. I wonder in our modern times with everything packaged and prepared how often we associate slaughter with food ? One thing is for sure these animals suffering permeates there juices and flesh which in turn continues in the food chain. For me these evil men will carry there bad karma to the grave whereupon they will be fed to the Kraken in an afterlife ! excuse the rant that video is nightmare material .:rcard :rcard :rcard :rcard :rcard :rcard :rcard :vangry

this is like the al quaeda terrorists for the environment, DISGHUSTING!

I thought i had seen some sick things..... but this is just unreal, I really felt for those beautifull mammals........... what a waste and for what, a vacuum pack of flesh on a distant shelf............ SICK.
I am not a vegetarian and as a spearo I feel that I am some what connected with the fish I catch but i still have the respect for the animal and cause it the least amount of stress and pain that I can.
Why is this stuff not shown on major tv? then maybe something will be done??????

A deeply saddened Dave :rcard

Foxfish, thank you for bringing this to all of our attention.

That's the worst case of animal cruelty I've ever seen.

Poor, poor creatures. I feel so sad.

Saudi Firewall blocked this video, so I cannot see it. Maybe it's for the better?

Friggin UAE firewall blocked this site... So i cannot see it either:martial Maybe for the better too!

Whats going on? killing dolphins? curuosity killed the cat.

Indeed for the better :( . In a nutshell and as far as I'll go, men in boats (I won't dignify them with the title of 'fishermen' or 'hunters') herd a pod of dolphins into a shallow cove, where a crane is used to pull them out of the water by their tails, where they're loaded into pickup trucks on the boatramp or simply dragged behind a full truck up a blood soaked street to a killing shed for slaughter. All this mind you in the presence of children walking to school, who having seen this time and again pass by unconcerned along streets wet with flowing blood and water that ends up back in the sea. (The cameraman could probably have worked openly here without drawing much attention.) Later the narrator identifies to us packages of dolphin meat purposely mislabled as orca or whale products.

Thanks for the summary, knoodelhed, now I know for sure I should'nt watch this - the description is enough to haunt me for a long time. So very, very, very sad that our species is capable of such behavior. It brings to mind that we occasionaly do similar atrocities even to our own kind. We just have an awfully long way to go in learning how to conduct ourselves in relation to any sort of "other" - we may just not make it as a species either, and it may just be for the better, as far as the universe in large is concerned.

and whoever said it was ok to kill orca? they assume that the label makes it better, it s the same in my opinion, they could have equally labelled it dolphin

sick indeed - these kid of vids should get more coverage so general public can find out what stone-age habits are still well and alive in the 21st century in a country that calls itself developed.

I'd like to string up some of those fishermen and do the same to them. Sick b******s.

This is not a very nice video, I'll be the first to admit that. BUT, is it really that diffrent from other fishing? sure, a cod might not be as cute at the zoo as a dolphin but that dosen't mean that we can treat them as we like on the large fishingboats vaccumin the seas...

Alright so I saw the video, pretty horrid. However, you could replace the circumstances and the dolphins with any animal we eat and produce an equally disturbing movie.

After all, I must say, anyone eating meat, myself included, is as much to blame for these types of activities as the fisherman.

Does anyone here really believe the chicken/beef/mutton etc. they eat comes from a package and not an animal? Everything we eat that we must kill first dies a similar death.

So what is the big deal?

You can make sure what you kill is killed humanely and responsibly for a start. That part disgusts me the most. If I am fishing or hunting I dispatch my prey as quickly and humanely as possible. I also believe that because dolphins are more 'intelligent' their senseless slaughter raises the hackles further. I personally don't believe they are killed for eating but because the fishermen believe the dolphins take too many of their fish, their proper livelihood. To me, any senseless taking of life is barbaric.

I half understand you Justin but being humane is what differentiates us from the rest of the animal kingdom. If i catch a fish i kill it quickly using a priest ,if its a chicken yes we break it's neck, a cow in the abbatoirre gets a bolt fired into it's head or an electric shock getting my drift ? Sure natures cruel when a cat plays with a dying mouse or when orca's drown a young whale only to eat it's tounge . Given the tools we have and the weapons of death we have i would prefer a clean headshot to limit their suffering. I think because they are mammals makes it more shocking but all slaughtered animals should follow the quick & clean rule just my 2 cents.
