Hi all.
I've just started out, 4min static, 15m depth only playing it safe in Tenerife. Started getting cold after about 1.5hrs with a surf wetsuit and hood 6 weeks ago (late May). Put on a stone since then though working on a boat!

I'm back in Dorset and want to go and carry on the fun. Loads of questions.

- first of all I'm looking for someone to go with me of similar level. I won't be able to rescue below 15m yet though

- Of these sites which is slow currents and 10-20m depth? scuba diving south coast England, UK, dive site directory

- I don't want to buy yet another wetsuit if at all possible. If I do I would prefer to get one back in Tenerife from Decatalon. I already have a surfsuit, 2 under bodywarmers with hoods, a longjohn, boots&boots and a kiting drysuit... prefer to combine these for the moment... but then I haven't tried diving in the UK yet!

I love the spearfishing thread. I grew up around here and it would be great to do something like that, but not ready to start fighting fish yet; bit too much of an unknown methinks.

hmm, ok well...

I'll be going tomorrow (wed) to Swanage and then round the corner to Perbeck from Ringwood going via Poole and Bournemouth if anyone's interested.
I won't be able to push any diving though, will have to play it safe

Will probably go again at the weekend and then next Tue up to Norfolk.

Wish i could help bit for away keep trying some one will help !WONT THEY? come on boys we all started some where.Good luck keep us up dated with your outings.

Don't worry too much about depth. Speared a 3lb bass in 2ft of water last night and missed 2 5lb ers close by.

Durdle Door was... interesting! I didn't know we have so many groccles. That's the Sunday. Good to see some visitors.

Visibility was <5m so I was diving into nothing. Had 5 Mackrel (I think Horse) come within a foot of my goggles - very nice! Didn't feel at all cold but once again as soon as the apnea effect kicked in (and it only kicked in a bit as it was only 8-10m) I got cold.

Will need to make some weights, was having to grab seaweed to stay down - will try breaking down an old car battery, melting the lead and filling into an inner tube.

It's mostly just a lot of seaweed round there. Didn't see much fish. Probably all hiding in the seaweed. Bit of an underwater jungle, Africa was better... unsurprisingly :p
Still, all good that it's possible.

Couldn't dive properly, more like snorkling really. Will look into making a speargun next :) I luuv sashimi.
