Just a reminder that the Saltfree Double Dip will take place over the weekend of 18 and 19 July in Chepstow, UK and all are welcome - all depths (to 76m), all countries, short people, tall people, monofinners, bi finners, no finners, even a few dogs are coming...

all the details are on SaltFree Divers - Double Dip 09

the closing date for RECEIPT of entry and payment is 18 June and I live in a place with very bad post... so get them in soon

if you'd like to come and help/watch rather than compete, then drop me a line too as we're still short of safety divers, clock operators etc

thanks
Sam

Just a reminder that the closing date is this Thursday - 18 June - and Mr King - I still haven't had your entry!

Today is the closing date - please get your entries in within the next 24 hours if you can. If something's holding you up, drop me a line and we can sort something out.

Sam can you get your Hungarian friend to e-mail me please. I'm after what the NR's are for each discipline, we have a Hungarian in our group too :)

The norwegian Erlend Breidal is also attempting a NR in FIM. The current record is 50m and was done in this years Bizzy Blue Hole by Steinar Schjager.

Oh my lord, what's going on? Have you lot forgotten to take your Harden Up pills? Is the pike under the pontoon angry and chasing everyone back up? With so many red cards it looks like there might be a spare chocolate cake or two, Sam you know my address :D

Best of luck for tomorrow, hopefully a nice meal at the Boat and a good night's rest will help everyone out.

Wish I was there!

Cheerio,
Ben

The out of water highlight was the Northern Scouser Jay breaking into Dave Kings car after he left his keys locked in it. Its in his genes rofl

Good comp, so many people just fell foul of the s***** parts that are in the rules, judges were spot on but i'm sure they left wishing a few bits of common sense could be added but I suppose whatever you change it affects something else you haven't thought of.

Great company as ever :) Did I ever tell you I really love you fellas :) (guys and girls)

See you next year.

no, tim, it was tipping with rain, the wettest double dip ever..... but we need it to rain a lot as mark harris has almost reached the bottom - so the quarry has got to get a bit deeper.

I love you all too!

it's rather dull but you can see the official footage from our somewhat all over the place saturday dives on vimeo now

Thanks for the video Samanta! I even noticed sunshine, and the water looks pretty clear to me! How far could you look down?
What were the temperatures?

Looks like and sounds like you had good fun!
Maybe next time a UW cam to film people swimming up and down? - hearing the dive time upon surfacing is also cool for the onlookers.

Too bad of the many yellow cards; but I'm sure divers will train to perfect their technique to comply the rules next time. Many look like beginner mistakes.

Again thanks for the video, it makes me want to be there!

Love, Courage and Water,

Kars

Interestingly the beginners are the ones who did the less mistakes :) but I think that we all learned something from all these coloured cards...

I am not the best to estimate visibility but I think it was around 8m.
The whole weekend was really a lot of fun. Perhaps you should join us next year.
