Cool video! Looks like a nice dive site with lots of fish. :)

Thanks for the video. I've been slowing down my ascent from 20 meters and I noticed that you were going fast enough to get almost airborne. Very interesting.

Nice scenery indeed!

How do you deal with the salt water in your eyes? Are you wearing lenzes?

And btw how did you change your fin-setup during that dive, starting with bi-fins, than a flash of No-fins, and an Monofin in the end, or did you ask David Copperfield to teach you that magic? ;)

BTW your diving phylosophy of diving FRC appeals to me, pitty I don't have the cash to come over and enjoy your knowledge.

Thanks,
Love, Peace and Water.

And the camera I'm holding also dissapeared ..didn't notivce that one did you. Footage is obviously a series of dives. The video is about the unit not my fins :head.

I don't wear lenses asI'm comfortable with saltwater due to long-term practice

Its a nice spot for sure!

Dear Sebastien,

A few questions about your Freediving Grand Prix competition which I find a nice idea and shall try it when I go deepdiving again.

At a first glance I think that the closer to the surface I announce the easyer it is to turn at precisely the announced depth. On the other hand ratiowise depth is more favourable in acchiving a small margin of error.

I take it you've tested it, what kind of results did you and others manage?
The calculation exemples I saw were increddebly precise!

The regulations are special too, Is there a competition / guidance line? Is a swimmingcap allowed? Is wet equalisation allowed are to combat the salt irritation non correcting lenses allowed?

I must admit that I'm hesitant of the deep cold, the dive's I've done in such cold water got my heart racing and pounding and my muscles freezing up, which was pretty scary last year. I hope someone know a remedy because deepdiving completely unassisted is a great sensation.

Thanks!

Kars

There is an optimal strategy, but telling would defeat the purpose. I will say that diving very shallow is not the answer though.

In the Pure-Form Freediving comp: nose-plug allowed since only a tiny number of divers can equalize with water, no reference line, do swim-caps, g-strings, socks, corrective lenses. This is the way many native divers were doing it until modern times, some still do; indeed, they didn't even use a nose-plugs. We are only interested in the real deal, i.e. real watermen and women, not weekend warriors who are can't dive because they forgottent to shave-down or require 2 hrs of yoga before being able to dive ... hope you all get the picture. After this, you'll know your alive and what being close to nature is really all about!

The calculations are precise but remember that if you're within 1 % of another athlete (according to the suggestions made by Eric Fattah) we don't consider this to be measurable so your deemd equal.

19-20 on the surface and about 30 in the air + radiant heat => perfect. If you've a dive response, though you may feel the cold you wont adversely react to it, i.e., in terms of an increase in VO2.
