Hey guys

I'm new to the freediving scene but i'm a fish in the water really, you have drag my sorry ass out of the water, now what i'm after is like a guide for training both in water and out of water... i understand that the best training is actually in the water and i want to do the F/D courses but at the sametime don't want to go to the course without being able to hold my breathe for less than 3m
can any fellow fish help

cheers guys:blackeye

If you're going to take the course, why do you want to pass 3 min first? When the instructor works with you for the first day you will probably pass 3 min anyway.

Hey I totally understand.

I want to get better at breathholding than I am now before I take a course too. Wouldn't want to embarrass myself in front of the great Martin Stepanek (insert embarrased smiley here)

so is it VO2 max or O2 max i should be training to increas?
looks like i'm not the only one out there who's looking for help.....
i know i'm new to the wonderfull world of freediving but i love it and just want to get better at spending longer uder the surface.

cheers peps

Hi - try using the search function on DB for static tables. Umberto's book also has them at the back.

While a high V02 max is going to help, freediving is about V02 min and learning to deal with high levels of C02.

If you are going to do static tables I would focus on C02 tables as this is where you will see the best results.

But, as the others have quite rightly pointed out you are better off learning first and then applying some training after your instruction. A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing....

Hope this helps,
Stuart

cheers stuart

thanks man yeah i think it's better to get the skills from the people at the school.
thanks guys
