Hi everyone. Sorry if a silly question i tried a search and couldnt find anything. My gun is capable of dual bands however i only use one currently. There have been reports of big fish in the areas i dive so am considering using the other band also.

My question is has anyone ever used two bands on their gun but only loaded one band for smaller fish until the second is required? My thoughts are that the second unloaded rubber could get in the way and tangle during firing. Anyone have experience trying this?
Thanks in advance

I load one band sometimes. Never had an issue. Good luck!

You should have no problem when shooting with one band. the extra band tends to float up and you aim right through the unloaded band. It is quite common for divers who have two band guns to unload one before shooting into a hole or cave. For close shots you generally don't need the power, it helps prevent stuck or damaged spear shafts that are more common with two bands being shot.

Awesome thanks. Havnt had the weather to try it yet but there have definitely been times where longer shots havnt been an option due to lower power. Looking forward to giving it a try.
Dive safe.
