To the forum owners - Many thanks for having the vision to put this website together. This is a great forum to find information on Spearfishing and related subjects.

I found this forum sight and was hoping someone can provide some information on fishing and spearfishing in the Abu Dhabi or Dubai area. I'm from the Washington, DC area and I'll be visiting Abu Dhabi and Dubai on June 6-13. I'm looking for fishing and spearfishing opportunities during that time. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
I understand it will be hot during that period but I'm hopeful we'll be able to at least get some fishing done in the mornings.

Hi there Ron .. welcome to DB .. I am a local diver from Abu Dhabi .. well I don't spearfish, only freedive ..

Spearfishing in UAE in general is not allowed without license, and getting one seems to be almost impossible, still spearos do spearfishing on their own risk, there are few spearos from the UAE here in DB, one of them might hear your call and give you a hand ..

On the other hand, if you are looking for pure freediving experience here in UAE (in khorfakkan on the Oman coast) then drop island sands a line, we might be doing some freediving around that time of June ..
