Hi Newbie here,

Just a quick hi and a big thanks to everyone who posts on this forum. I am an eager newbie freediver and have all the big plans to dive deep and long as most new comers do. With that eagerness comes abit of blindness as we strive to make big gains as quickly as possible. All new comers know the feeling looking for the plate rather than relaxing thus tensing up and potentially leading to problems. Through my (small) but excellent training from Sam Kirby in Saltfree so far I have learnt some valuable lessons which have been cemented by all the brilliant advice on this forum. Every question that has come to mind so far as I start out training has been answered on here. Having played other sports at competitive levels it is very refreshing to see a sport were there is a genuine helpfulness amongst eachother. Unlike lots of sports freediving can potentially be fatal that is why it is so nice to see everyone from the newbie with 1 months experience sharing their progress to the likes of world champions and record holders giving advice on questions no matter how trivial. I guess they had to have started somewhere to.

Anyway just wanted to say hi and thanks for all the excellent advice.

Rory

welcome mate!
If you continue the same way you ve started...(follow a freediving course, keep constantly informed and, last but not least, having the aim to improve yourself and not to beat all the others), you will enjoy every breathholding moment...
PS Finding a buddy is indispensable...
