Dynamic Apnea v/s Deep Anea + Co2/O2

Hi everyone! I´ve been training a lot to get to 40mt CWF and have some questions.

1. If I do 50 mts on dynamic apnea easily while training, how much depth should I expect to reach? I have not yet messured my maximum.

2. While doing O2 and Co2 tables, Is it better to push it even though I get contractions? or should I stay within times that don´t make me contract? Which is the better option?

There is no exact or even approximate parallel , The 2 huge differences are -Equalisation . This is the depth where many people encounter their first hurdle ,where frenzel begins to give out and mouth fill becomes imperative . A lot will depend on how long it takes you to master the technique.If you have access to a 4 mt dive pit there are empty lung exercises that are very effective in teaching this technique.
The second question which is not less important is- adaptation to pressure / depth. This is a question that has become more and more prominent in competition in recent years where the numbers have grown exponentially. Divers who have achieved 200mts in DYN have imagined they could, after a few days training , do 100 mts CWT or FIM . WRONG . This has lead to some near fatal accidents and some very severe Trachea squeezes and blackouts .
Again the best preparation for depth ,when you have no access to depth are empty lung tables in a 4 mt dive pit together with lung stretching exercises
From strictly a breath hold point of view 50 mts might give you a potential somewhere around 30mts .However this is as I have pointed out a pointless comparison , remember L'Apnee s'entraine L'apnee ( only freediving trains freediving). Good luck with that sorry I cant give you better news .

Well I´m already training mouthfill in the 3.something deep pool looking for efficient equalization. I think I will achieve that since I have made several 25mt deep dives with no equalization problem and using mouthfill (although it wasn´t necessary yet)
However I can´t get around training with empty lungs. I still feel I lack a method to boost that training area.

On the other hand I still need some advice on contractions and tables.

Have done a 113m dynamic and have never dived more than 20 meters cwt. Strictly because of equalization problems.

So in theory my max depth is more than 20 but in practice I can only get a 20 (in the best days).

Similar, have done a 100dnf but still cannot dive more than 12 or 13 meter cnf.

Main reason is equalization/chronic allergies,etc and stretching.

I am happy that I still can touch sea and pool water even that way.
 
as to ur question of tables I was tought that u should always be on the table thats just beyond ur reach once u can do it move to the next, tables that can be done easily are not doing anything for u the whole point is to learn how to handle the contractions so the point after contractions is the most important
 
there are some good free divers residing in chille on this forum u should look them up

here i disagree, not completely though.
tables that can be done easily can produce conditiones, in which you learn about easiyness. "easy" is not a state. Every "easy" can become "more easy". this is a big part of improving freediving and it is somewhat the other end compared to barely handle the situation or contractions or whatever.
...And still the very same, because the question remains the same: how to do it more easily?
strenous tables can help to take this questions serious, you sometimes even feel it´s yelled at you during a tough table. through this, one may feel a table is doing something "for you" and in easier conditiones you feel you do it more by yourself. both approaches can produce good answers, i think.

by pushing past difficult you get to a new difficult and the previous becomes the easy table the case u are talking about i think has more value in actual diving im personally not a huge fan of tables i think the benifits if any lay in conquering psycological barriers on more difficult holds otherwise i see no point in them just go diving a bunch

Unless there is a severe physiological problem ,which is extreme unlikely,and can be tested dry ,the problem is technical and fairly easily rectified .There are different strategies for different people to solve this problem . Hi Aharon, thanks for every time giving us many lessons! Please, in a resumed way, give us some empty lungs tables and exercises for 4m pool and how they could work. thanks
