Begun the labor of love tying bands for new prototype gun. Decided to purchase some Vectran line,
http://www.apsltd.com/Tree/d279000/e276809.asp
rather than the tried and true dyneema.

Has anyone had any prior experience with this line?

Here are some of my observations
No stretch
No creep
Outer sleeve (polyester) burns nice but inner vectran zilch
The vectran is a bitch to cut with snips, but ok with straight edge
The 3mm (closer to 3.5) is nice to grab and mount on fin
The 1.2 mm is sweet for tying the constictor knot

the line seems like a quality product, but as of yet I have not taken it out ,hopefully my prototype guns will be finished this week, and we'll see how they both handle, and wear...any input from other users?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't vectra, dyneema, spectra etc all just brandnames for UHMW polypropylene?

spectra=dyneema

Vectra is a different animal, all together, and from other sources I understand is not as good as *dyneema (*HMPE Type II prestretched outer core, also being made of dyneema).

A new line- Endura, is a urathane coated dyneema, which is stronger, has a higher UV resistance rating, and increased abrasion resistance

Has anyone here used it?
