Dyneema wishbone

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I used the Beuchat Red wishbone cord from spearfishingworld.com ....ive reused it on some of my bands as it was still in perfect shape from over a year of use. Just make sure your notches of shark fins are nice, polished and smooth and you will be just fine!!

kwtony, greatly appreciate your reply. But I'm more concerned about using the dyneema mentioned in my first post as a cord for the wishbone. I do not have any dyneema that I can salvage from an old band. this looks like a more economical option.

I think you would be better off using thicker cord so that the knot on the end is bigger and less likely to pull out of the band. I use 3 mm.

thanks bill! thickness in this case is not really a matter as i insert a thicker cord through into the band, then attach the dyneema with by tying a sheet bend.

hi guys perhaps this is the thread to ask how to fit the dyneema to the rubber, I purchased a rubber from crystalvis not expecting it to come without the line, so any tips as to how to thread the line though and secure it to the rubber and to the best line to use , the gun is a rob allen railgun 800 and there is nothing wrong with what's on the gun but I was going to fit a second rubber to try to speed up the spear.
hope you guys can help.

There are loads of youtube vids showing you how it is done mate but bear in mind that fitting a second rubber on a short gun is very unlikely to improve overall performance!
As a general rule it is far better to buy a longer gun for longer range, adding an extra band will most likely upset the guns balance & accuracy.

Ok that is interesting a bit like tumble on a bullet by putting too much powder in the case the bullet starts to tumble though the air.
ok so I will practice on the rubber I have by looking at the vids and then as I get more dives under my belt look to maybe a longer gun.

A second rubber on this gun most likely wont hurt it, especially if there is only one on there now. I thought they came with two from the factory. Now if you were trying to add a 3rd band, then you might be over powered. With a second band, you could add a second wrap and get a little more range out of it.

Yes the 800 rail gun can come with two bands from RA but I started off with a single band to get going with. As I have most of the kit i will make up the second band and test it out this summer. I'm off to saunton sands to test out new kit this Sunday if it stays calm .

Gotcha I missunderstood, somewhere I thought i read you had a single 20mm band.. My mistake. What band do you currently have on their now?
