I have been training DNF in general and start the session of with a few no warm up dives. No lead or suit. Just mask and speedos therefore most swims are about 30% lung.
3 mins shallow breathing at pool edge, get in and go. At about 50% of my PB I start getting "fuzzy". On one swim I even changed lanes. But on exiting, I am completely fine, not even a slight samba (which I can swim to easily while training).
Basically, No warm up FRC I have a long fuzzy period and easy recovery, versus on a warm up dive a short fuzzy period and tough recovery. Make sense?
