Hey y'all,
I've been freediving for the past few years, and recently moved down to the Beaufort/Morehead area. I am hoping to find fellow freedivers in the area to do both ocean and pool training with, since I haven't had much luck as of yet finding anyone. Haven't done any spearfishing before, but would love to get into it if I can find a buddy! Also into scuba (but again... don't have any buddies to dive with yet down here and the charters are expensive!)

I'm in Eastern NC as well (Jacksonville) and have this problem too. For me it is mostly travel and finding a buddy I can be consistent with, thanks to my busy schedule and distance issues. And the cost of a boat ride never helps. The struggle is real.

There is a decent group down in Wilmington. There is even a freediving store! Sam Blount, who owns and runs the shop Front Line Freediving and is a PFI instructor does a lot out of there. Ren and Ashley Chapman run Evolve Freediving out of Wilmington as well, whenever they are around.
