Looking for recommendation for a good beginners spot in South West England. Heading down this Sunday and Monday with a mate and we want a safe place to get out and give it a go. Ideally not too near any environmentally protected areas as well as I don't want that headache.
Any information/ thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

When I'm down that way, I generally just pick somewhere on the map that appeals to me and go there. There are fish all around the coast, so location is not that critical, except with respect to water conditions (chop/visibility). Which part of the South West in particular - that covers quite a distance? The Lizard can be good - but if you were in N. Devon or West Penwith, that might be a bit of a hike (and unnecessary).
