I'm going to order a custom suit from Elios and I've almost made up my mind on what suit I want. The one thing I can't decide on is wether I want a nylon elastic outside lining or a kanoko lining.

At this point I'm only into recreational freediving so I want a suit that can handle the occasional scrapes on the bottom or when playing around wrecks.
I would like a suit to be durable but don't want to sacrifice for a lack of stretchability. I know that kanoko is more durable than nylon elastic but my question is which is more elastic?

I emailed the people at Elios and they have been very helpful, they told me that kanoko is more elastic but I saw some posts on deeperblue saying that kanoko is stiff. Did any of you have the chance to try both linings?
I'm pretty sure the staff at Elios know their stuff very well but I just wanted to check if anyone had any experience with these materials.

Cheers,
Daniel

I don't think you'll have a problem either way. I have a 'superstretch' black shadow suit - and a less expensive suit with nylon outside and plush inside - both are elios freediving suits and both are very durable. My daughter slightly cut the nylon on her 3mil suit on a zebra muscle - but these are razor sharp and would certainly cut most anything.

Thanks for the info,
I had one more question, I've been reading that low density neoprene will not last as long as medium density. For repeated dives at 30m or less do you think the medium density will last much longer?

The reason I ask is that if there is not much of a difference I will go for low density because I read that its more flexible.

I'd run that by the elios goes. I think my 5mm suit is medium/high density - and it really was a struggle to put on. This year I stretched the neck with a small bucket and am having a much easier time. My 3mm suit is way easier to stretch.
