Hey all,

I ordered a suit from elios almost a month and a half ago
they emailed me that they've got the payment a few hours after it
was made and said that the suit will be shipped within 30 days.

on the 30th day (couldn't wait one more second) I emailed them
asking when the suit will be ready to ship
they replied that it'll be ready "next week".

trying to be polite I waited 14 days before I sent them another email
to which I did not get any reply for 2 days now.

Has anyone came across a similar thing with elios?

I think they close the entire factory/workshop during some holidays. To avoid unnecessary unhappiness I always advise folk to allow *plenty* of time when ordering custom suits. Perhaps best to order them at the end of the season - so time is not critical and the workshop is probably a little quieter.

6 weeks seems a reasonable/typical sort of turn around. Silly of them to "over promise" and "under deliver". Usually better to under commit and over deliver I think.

I have had 4 suits from Elios, I beleive them to be honest and reliable people; hang in there and i'm sure they will deliver...

Well mistakes and misunderstandings might happen anywhere.

But as written above i just can tell you normally they answer emails quickly in really ship quite in time.

I ordered two suits and got them.

And well sometimes but seldom the answer time was more than one day.

But nevertheless please report back to us.

As there are thread about other companies it would be interesting how Elios would handle complications (if there were some ;) )

Well I just got their response to my second email
(3 days after I sent it)

It's basically the same response that they have sent me last time
"Hi,next week, we will send your suit… wait our news.."
It's that "wait our news" sentence that gets me agitated,
when you hear it for the third time you get a little worried.

I have an elios suit and they are usually fast and reliable
it's not like them to make false promises like that.

hopefully you guys are right and they are just taking their time.
I'll keep you up to date.

...Yes but you know what?... people order stuff from all over the world from those "ITALIAN"...

oh, i forgot to mention that 99% of people are well satisfied from those "ITALIAN" stuff and all of em say they're really seriuos and that a missundestanding might happen, btw TESTIS you're the best!!!

One word...Italian.
:)

:) classical one... stereotypes are always at their best when they seem to be right :wave

...Yes but you know what?... people order stuff from all over the world from those "ITALIAN"...

just reacting precisely as expected :D

I am pretty sure no one should be upset by this... but i thank you it made me smile. :)

I ordered my Elios suit through a UK agent, when after 6 weeks I made enquiries as to where my suit was, I was ignored by the UK agent until I threatened him with legal action, it turned out that he hadn't placed the order with Elios and so gave me a refund (over 6 weeks had passed by now). I placed the order direct with Elios and I had my new suit in around 3 weeks. No problem with Elios themselves.

In my case,i'm using elios since 2003 with more than 15 suits made with no problem at all. Also, they fixed and repaired some things for free!

My opinion about Elios is great. Those Italians made exellent suits and service were good also.
All claims were taking care perfectly.
All deliverys made in 3 weeks.

Thats my opinion those Italian. :)

It's been another week, and still no sign from elios.
Every one has a good opinion about them, I had too, but the fact is that they
are very late with my suit now, and the only response I can get from them is
'next week, next week' .......

Any advice???
Another e-mail seems pointless.
Do they speak english? I thought of calling them.

Thanks.

Didn't they explain to you that it's really busy in the beginning of the season?

I think giving them a friendly call can be helpful, serving a virtual texting person is much more distant then hearing a true voice or meeting a human in the flesh.

I wonder if they might be awaiting delivery your preferred neoprene? Might be worth asking what the problem is. I usually included a Google translation with my emails to help things along. They still usually took a few days to reply - but they replied fully.

I'm a fan of the Italians - they do things a little differently but the results are usually worthwhile.

Sweet salvation!

"Hello,we confirm you that have just sent your suit by EMS CAI post n. EE242448651ITit will arrive next week directly at your postal address. Wait your news when will have received it.Best regards"

Almost two months later,
I confirm you that I'm relieved. :D

Hopefully the product is better than the service.
I will update when it's here.

We never have to forget that Elios is not a big factory with a big warehouse and a crowd of employees. It's a small boutique with a small number of employees.

If only one of them gets sick from a flu, if there's a sharp increase of orders all at sudden, if a batch of neoprene comes late because of the courier, if the plumber has to break up the floor to fix a water pipe, if any little unexpected evenience happens, the little boutique goes in trouble with deliver times.

But then if you want your wetsuit to be handmade from exceptionally skilled chosen craftsmanship, this is what you get. Otherwise, get an Omer from some chinese sweathouse.

Buying a custom suit from any manufacturer that's not elios did not even cross my mind.

Don't get me the wrong way, I wouldn't mind waiting a year, as long as that is what they have promised me.
I understand that it is a small workshop, but as Mr. X said: it's Silly of them to "over promise" and "under deliver", it makes the customer feel really bad when he doesn't know what is going on.
After I pay someone 200-300 euros for a product I want to be on top of things, and when I keep getting the same response from them (next week) without any further explanations (our materials shipment has been delayed, for example) I start thinking all sorts of bad thoughts and get nervous which no client should be.

After saying all that- my next suit will be an elios.
Cheers
