Hey all,

I'm looking at starting to freedive/ spearfish in and around the Portsmouth area. The reason I'm wanting to start is to reduce my air consumption when Scuba diving and well... what better way to do it than by practicing breath hold! If nothing else I'll be more relaxed in water.

Does anybody have any recommendations for fairly local places to start out safely? And what are peoples opinions on the AIDA freediving qualifications? I'm hoping to get my Aida 1 star while at the blue hole in Dahab (although looking at the requirements I can do all that already!)

Lots of Love,

Mike

as far as i know the one star and two star AIDA certification can be done in one single session...

i don-t know places arround you, to start safely, but i want to reamind you that in freediving like in scuba, you need a qualified buddy diver!
