Only 4 weeks to go and we still have very little registrations for the Long Night of Apnea.

Please register now or we will have to cancel the competition.

Register here: Home

or send an email to m.mueller@aida-deutschland.de

The LNA is the competition with the longest tradition. This year it is the 11th time national and international athletes come together for STA, DYN and the world famous 16x50m.

Accommodation is cheap in the club house and the atmosphere is very German, so very cozy.

If you had plans to come, regiser NOW! If you had not, THINK ABOUT IT! You are all welcome!

people can register after that but we need a minimum number of athlets until then.

Not sure yet. As I am not in charge of the registration this time. I'm just the messanger...

I will get the results tonight and then we'll see...

I`m sorry I can`t come. I`m emberrased to say but scubadiving is getting in the way:head Good luck anyway. Will you have DNF next year? I have a hyperfin almost done now, so maybe I should start training with that for a while now

Martin I just subscribed a few hours ago, I hope it helps, because I love this event!

And I love to come, I'm training hard for a big improvement in the 16x50m discipline!
I'm approaching the 13 minutes now in training And I want to make that official in Berlin!

Please keeps us informed Martin!

Thanks Kars, I've got you on my list.

And please, no promotion of that other event on this threat...

No problem Martin, it is arranged.

I try to get a few other people to chime in the wonderfull Berlin competition.

Did you tell people how great the party and BIG beers are AFTER the competition?
And offcause iconic people like Wolle, Renate, the Danes make it complete.
Berlin is easy and cheap flying to.

The organisors are very experienced, it is very well organised, in a good 50m pool, with a seperate nice warm pool for static with free fruit and drinks!
Let's help eachother, subscribe and have fun weekend and great workout in the lovely Christmass themed warm Berlin!

Love, Courage and Water!

Kars

Hear hear! I really hope you are able to keep up the good tradition, sorry I can't come

My freediving friends, thank you all for your responses!

The good news is, we will continue the long tradition of this freediving competition and have the Long Night of Apnea this year as planned.

I will post the in-list here as soon as I get it.

Looking forward to see you all.

Martin

First, Thank you Martin for bring to our attention the difficult situation in the first place! I'm also very happy the comp is in the clear now!
Now I can ask my boss that thrilling saturday off, buy the traintickets etc.

Hehe James and other beginners,

Have no Worries about your skills or numbers, be there for the experience!
It's pretty thrilling to participate for the first time, you have to time everything well to be able to do your best at the right moment

You'll find the challenge is very rewarding to be able to manage things well and get in tune with the water and relax and supprice yourself when you get your white card with a nice performance or a personal best!

I should not forget to mention that watching others, meeting new people, getting new idea's IS VERY inspirational to your training!
And seeing an trying out new equipment can also help greatly to determin your next christmass or birthday gift too.

For me it's also a great way to practice my foreign language skills, learning of other events, finding new buddies or even new holyday adresses

So check out the internet for a nice discount flight, I'm sure you'll love the different setting and admosphere, have you ever been in Berlin?

Catch you in Berlin Jay!

Love, Courage and Water,

Kars

PS. personally I cannot really do max performances in my local pool, so I live up to competitions to see what the past few months have brought me!

I am very happy to ad some people to the in-list here:

I am expecting some real good results as Swedens top 3 men in dynamic with fins are coming...
And I'm still wondering whether I should try the 16x50m in DNF. Even if it takes me 45min I would piss off some of the guys who would not dare to do that...

Cool!

I'm looking forward what Barbara and Steiner will show! Exiting!

Martin surely do the 16x50m it's a great training, and if it fits I'm happy coach you too!
The key is not to swim to fast, but very efficient. Take note of when on the 50m it gets difficult, and count the number of strokes from than on. The next lane when it gets hard you know, "ok now just 5 more strokes". The fun is in this discipline you can hyperventilate almost as much as you like
Don't wear to much weight, and don't take full breaths that makes for easier swimming and better monofin technique. Have some practice in the pool the D3 repeat count down is excellent for this.

See you down in Berlin Martin!

Love, Courage and Water,

Kars

Cheers Kars

I`m exited about this competition too, but I have not got a lot of DYN practice. When I think of it I have not used a monofin in a competition yet. I have never tried anything that resembles 16x50 but i guess it is a first time for every thing. Thanks for the advice Kars. I have started hyperventialing already

Thanks to Martin's call, the able organiser Michael, helpful staff and the public response the Berlin competition turned out pretty nice!

From my memory Wolle while being ill won the Static with an impressive 7'27", Per is coming back into shape and doing an easy 189 m dynamic, and I was very happy to have Igor as my coach assisting me through a very fast 16x50m to the time of 12'41". Starting about every 47 seconds.
Though it was tough, I'm starting to believe I may be able to do it under 12 minutes some day, but for the moment I'm very proud to come close to Peter Pedersen's incredible fast 12'29" he did when I first came to Berlin in 2003.

The total results can be downloaded from here:
11. Deutsche Nacht des Apnoetauchens in Berlin

Now let's work on finally breaching the 150m and go beyond.

Thanks for everyone to help to make this nice tradition possible!

Love, Courage and Water!

Kars.

Thank you, Kars, for your kind words.

It was indeet a pleasure to have all you in Berlin.

The best performances you've allready put down but I want to ad anotherone. We saw a Norwegian Record dive by of 6:09 min by Steinar. The finish you can see here:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5FWj2Md4Qc]YouTube - Static Norwegian National Record[/ame]

It was the closest call for a white card I have seen so far... but verry well done and a very good examle of great coaching.

Well, I hope to see some of you in Febuary for the Berlin Masters Cup and maybe Kars is going for that record on Peter. If I would be so close to a record of that man, I'd go for it.
