I hate getting into art debates...... There is a simple solution... Don't listen....:martial

World would be a much better place if the HipHop industry vanished![]()
After devoting the last ten or so years of my life to producing hip hop here in the UK, I would have to strongly disagree with this statement. And to be honest, it’s a pretty narrow minded way of looking at hip hop music. I appreciate that so called ‘gangster rap’ has a bad rep but there is far more to hip hop than guns and bitches! Amphibious, I invite you to check out some of my music, and hopefully you’ll see a different side to hip hop! You can find four of my tunes at www.myspace.com/eckaflx. Let me know what you think!Amphibious said:World would be a much better place if the HipHop industry vanished![]()
I can see where you're coming from, but not really sure if I agree, Crusty. I feel as though every musical genre has its place, no matter how commercial/mainstream it is. I don't particually like a fair ammount of mainstream music or what it stands for, but nevertheless try and listen to the radio and the charts just to keep an eye on whats going on. If you can try and remain objective - there are some very well written songs making it into the charts.crusty said:Each to there own i suppose but if its Mainstream you can shove it straight up your clacker

Great choice of bands Crusty. Steve (Sonic Youth) is a good friend of mine. Still love Iggy, I'm a Michigan boy by birth..... Saw DK's many times.... Crucif*cks, Black Flag, Germs etc...crusty said:But dont get me Started on music, i used to be a bit of a young Punky Goth
Grew up with Iggy, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Junior, Dead Kennedys, Billy Bragg, Ramones etc and those music roots havnt left, i would still love to use Phill Collins, Billy Joel and U2 as Burley or target practice.
They just go to show you dont need talent to make money.
