I just checked the C4 site, and there is no information about the Falcon model, just the Flap. Did they stop producing it?

Besides there is an strange new model for footpocket called mustang. I think is very new. Anyone has tried this?

NO, the Falcon is a classic, some divers prefere the geometry on the Faclon to the flap for various reasions.

since it was just updated, there is info there now on all fins

As for the Mustang, it is the most original innovative fin design I have seen this century. The fine tuning of the footpocket will cater for a wide variety of feet types but give you more control of your stroke. Form follows function, and my opinion of how they look shows clearly how they will work!

Thanks Sniper
I own a pair of Falcon, and love it.
Do you know why they don't put any information about it in the web page?

It looks like it brings the blade closer to the foot, but what makes it so special? (except the look)

Holy crap is that cool!

How much are they?
When can we get them?
Who'se going to be the first comapny to mount them on a monofin?

Jon

Looks super cool and those footpockets must feel like a bless for the feet. But it looks to me a bit like it will snap at the location where the blade connects to the footpocket. There is no gradual transmission of the bending forces into the footpocket, like with the falcons etc but a sharp cutoff point.
But then again the guys at C4 have lots of experience with carbon material so maybe that is no problem.

Now thats an idea!

With abit of jiggery pokery, like Jyri has done with the Omer footpockets on his blades, im sure it can be done!

My money will be on speicalfins

with it snapping: 2 year garantee reinforces that it most likey wont! that plus 20yrs expeirance!!

You will be able to get them from your local C4 dealer.

There is only 1 C4 dealer in the US ... for reasons I will not get into on this forum, I no longer do business with them. Can anyone recommend a european or Canadian dealer where I can order C4 mustang fins?

The fact that they lace up is to me a pretty smooth reason to get them. With my 13's and the 3-5 mil socks and the need to punch out of the fins on the exits, these may be the ticket. I'd toss my Specialfins Hybrid on these footpockets! :inlove

I can figure the laces are going to fatigue the eyelets in the boots, even if they are reinforced.

And who the Hell word-ed the promo on that site?! Jeez, does the phrase "less is more" translate??

Summing up they liked them very much. They perfectly fit their feet and offer very good performance. They hurt much less than other fins and allows your feet to be much more relaxed while swimming. Compared with flaps (wearing a flap and a mustang to ease the comparison) they say the leg that wears the mustang is less tired after the test. The only complain one of the two tester had was about the fact that the mustang are a bit larger than the flap/falcon near the footpocket (see the last photo) so the fins tends to touch if you are used keeping your legs very close while swimming (which in general is consider the way to go). You have probably to adapt the way you swim a little bit (this is their conclusion).

I hope this helps.

Thank you for taking the time to translate for us G. GRAZIE!
It seems there are some trade offs with the footpocket design. I for one will be glad to get rid of the long siderails on other footpockets. The rubber strip eventually comes off the blade and then the blade seperates from the footpocket. Seems like C4 has fixed this problem with their new footpocket by virtually eliminating the side rail alltogether. For this I will learn to kick with my feet slightly farther apart .
