Well I did, AND I WAS SOBER! how's that for courage?!
So, she works Saturday, I prepared the outside table with a vase/bowl with floating flowers and a candle, and a brand new bansai which she had wanted as a gift for a long time. Then cooked her a lovely meal which embarrassingly enough she helped me finish, well, she did MOST of when she got home to help out! (She is a chef, and I am, honestly, terrible!) Then we had dinner with the girls who I wanted there as it was as important for them as for me, and towards the end of dinner I gave her a ring box and said it was merely filled with things to read. So in it I had a whole heap of notes layered on one another with the first one saying "I love ...." and the rest of them outlining what I love about her. And the second last one was along the lines of "That I now get to ask for your hand in marriage" and as she read it she saw the tiny envelope under the last note, and she pulled out the ring, so down on one knee, popped the big question and got the answer I was hoping for!
